Coaches Code of Conduct
 
The following coach’s code of conduct has been established for the EW Rec Soccer program.  The emphasis of the recreation soccer league is to allow all children to play the game, have fun, and develop their skills, while emphasizing good sportsmanship.  Coaches are expected to understand, acknowledge and comply with the provisions of this code of conduct.
 
  • The coach’s primary responsibility is to ensure (and to take all appropriate action to ensure) the health and safety of all participants.
 
  • Coaches are expected to know and understand the Laws of the Game, and to understand and enforce the In House program Rules.
 
  • Coaches will:
    • Strive to develop the children’s appreciation of the game
    • Keep winning and losing in proper perspective
    • Be sensitive to each child’s developmental needs
    • Allow players to experience all positions
    • Provide positive feedback to all children
    • Conduct practices in the spirit of enjoyment and learning, and of age appropriate length
 
  • Coaches are expected to be a positive role model, and to set an example for players, parents, referees and other coaches.  To that end,
    • Smoking is prohibited by coaches at any game or practice
    • Consumption of alcohol is prohibited at any game or practice.  In addition, if it is determined that a coach is under the influence of alcohol at a game or practice, the coach shall be automatically suspended.
    • The wearing of any article of clothing, which advertises tobacco or alcohol, or displays any profane language, is prohibited.
    • The use of profane, obscene, or vulgar language or gestures is prohibited.
    • Verbal or physical abuse of any player, referee, parent, or opposing coach will not be tolerated
    • Gambling upon any play, or the outcome of a game is prohibited.
    • Directing players to engage in the intentional use of any rough tactics, or intimidating play is prohibited.
 
 
I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understand this code of conduct.  I agree to abide by this code of conduct, and all rules and regulations of the East Windsor PAL.  I understand that a violation of this code of conduct may result in my suspension, or expulsion, from all East Windsor PAL programs.
