The East
Windsor PAL Recreation Basketball program is
designed to offer a
wholesome atmosphere for instructive
recreational basketball. This year,
there are 100 youth playing at two levels:
instructional (pre k – k
grade), instructional (1st grade and 2nd
grade). For each
level, our objective is to teach individual
skills that will help nurture
self-confidence, demonstrate good
sportsmanship (on and off the court), and
show these players how to strive toward a
goal as a group. All of this is
aimed to help position our children to
attain greater goals later in life.
Each division plays on Saturday mornings in
a 1 hour slot. The first half
hour is dedicated to improving skills
including dribbling, passing, shooting
and defense. The second ½ hour is scheduled
game scrimmages. The
sessions
will be more of a gym class setting where
kids will practice fundamentals, and slowly
work into game play - no refs - just coaches
using teachable moments to improve skills
and knowledge.
Instructional Basketball will be held at
the McKnight school on Saturdays.
